In today’s world, it is not surprising that people feel that they have too much stress in their life. The need to perform, to meet deadlines, to face worrying situations such as illness, divorce, loss of a job or poor work conditions are all factors of stress.

Too much stress can also occur in some positive situations: wedding, birth of a child, admission to a new school, starting a new job or business, etc. Stress in itself is not a negative thing... it only becomes a problem when stress levels are too much to handle.

Some people respond very well to stress and find it stimulating while others are quick to react negatively to stress, even under moderate doses. With stress, the people’s reaction and perception can greatly vary.

Too much stress can lead to many different kind of illnesses, including headaches, weak immune system, irritable bowel syndrome, heartburn, heart disease, high blood pressure and more.

It is very important that people can identify the main sources of stress in their life and find ways to reduce stress to more acceptable levels. Is your stress mostly coming from your work? Or it might be cause by your problematic relationship with your spouse?  Maybe it’s related to the death of your best friend? The first step is to identify the source then work on a solution to feel better.

Depending on the situation, you may want to use different techniques to improve your stress and feel better about your life in general. You could start to do exercise, meet friends more often, learn how to meditate or find out how to improve your time management skills.

Sometimes stress can reach destructive stages and lead to serious problems such as anxiety disorders and depression. Negative thoughts can become a pattern and the person might need to go through a therapy in order to recover.

Even children and teenagers can suffer from stress. Experiences such as physical or emotional abuse, drugs, death of a loved one, divorce of parents, etc. are all traumatic events that can lead to depression or anxiety disorders. Add treatment. Adolescent depression symptoms. Alternative therapies and anxiety attacks.

Depending on the specific situation, simple stress relief techniques may be enough to solve the problem.  In other severe cases, such as depression and anxiety disorders, therapy might be necessary.

Doing moderate exercise three times a week is a great way to prevent and reduce illness such as depression, high blood pressure and heart disease. It is important to choose an activity that you can find enjoyable. It can be jogging, walking, aerobics, dancing, weight lifting or swimming.

Unlike what most people believe, it is not necessary – or even recommended – to exercise more than three to four times a week. Activity training stress management, Over-exercising can lead to complications such as fatigue, circulatory problems and even increase the risk of stroke. Of course, it is always better to consult your doctor and training specialist before deciding on what is best for you.
